The group, having started out as only a few individuals, has now grown to about thirty students in only a couple of months, with many interested. Here are a few of the ministries we have been doing over the past few months.
We have been having this dinner every Thursday for one year now. One team gathers and cooks (4-6) at the Catholic Center then one team meets there to deliver the food down to Sons of Thunder homeless shelter. We will then sit and eat dinner with our friends who live on the streets and just get to know them a bit better.
We will be meeting at the Catholic Center at 11AM to make lunch for our homeless friends. We will make a semi-simple meal to move down to Quakertown park (Civic center) around 1:00. We will then have a picnic eatting with our friends and enjoying each others company.
This meal will be just like Saturdays meal but we will be trying to have some Gospel music every Sunday after our meal just to be able to share our faith with other fellow believers in the park.

In April of 2007, Seeds of Change put on an event entitled Bare Your Soles for the Homeless. The event was a barefoot march that took place throughout the city of Denton in an effort to raise awareness of homelessness and poverty that was taking place within the city of Denton. This year, Bare Your Soles is taking the Next Step, and is going beyond raising awareness in an effort to unite the community of Denton through fellowship and love. Our goal is to bring together people from all demographics and economic classes, and in turn aid the community in better understanding that we are all equal.
Bare Your Soles: the Next Step will be taking place on April 12th, 2008 from 11 AM until 3 PM. The march will begin at precisely 11 AM at Fry street, and will end at the courthouse lawn. At the end of the march, we will provide food and entertainment from local vendors and artists. In addition, there will be a few guest speakers who will address the issues of homelessness and our need for unity. We invite you to join us on Saturday, April 12th, in our efforts to love our neighbors and to abolish inequality!!!

This group will be on call to help tutor homeless in GED testing. You would be guiding people through predetermined lessons on subject matters they need help in.

Our mission or "goal" or whatever you might call it is to "cultivate" community through the growing of fresh, local-produced fruits and veggies. All our produce that is directly linked with Seeds of Change will go directly to either the homeless or to different ministries around the community. We would love to one day provide to impoverished community with the knowledge of better dietary habits, and how to start a garden for themselves; making them one step closer to financial self-sufficiency.
Another focus is to start small neighborhood plots for the neighborhood to be apart of. All for the sake of loving god and loving our neighborhood even deeper.

Our main goal is to assist the homeless in getting employment. We strive to do this by helping them locate jobs, preparing them for interviews, and helping them acquire the skills they need for employment. The main medium through which we get the word out about what we do and also where we perform most of our service is at the thursday dinner and weekend lunches.

If any of these groups sound interesting to you and you would like to help or need more information please fill out the form on the top right of this page to get in contact with us. We want to stress the importance of committment because if you are not committed then our goal of building relationships and helping these people off the street will never be accomplished. We are not very strict but if you can't make most of the meetings then it may not be wise to help out in that area. Please prayerful discern how you can help our community and where you fit in at Seeds of Change. Any questions or cares please email me or call. After you have signed up your individual leader will contact you shortly after.
We at Seeds of Change believe that Christ calls on each of us to love everyone, especially the least of our brothers. We hope that by reaching out to others in our community, we can bring everyone together through fellowship. Jesus commanded us to love our neighbor, and this is the perfect chance.
If you are interested in volunteering with Seeds of Change and would like to know more about where we serve and how else you can be involved, please email us or send us a facebook message.
